Hudson Blue Hawks (Hudson, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Watervliet Cannoneers (Watervliet, NY), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Blue Hawks now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rensselaer for a Section 2 Patroon challenge on Monday, April 17. Hudson will face a Rams squad coming off a 6-0 league loss to Coxsackie-Athens (Coxsackie, NY). The Rams record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Watervliet falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Cannoneers host Lansingburgh (Troy, NY) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 13. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. Lansingburgh lost 10-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Taconic Hills (Craryville, NY)
