Sunrise Mountain Mustangs (Peoria, AZ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Kellis Cougars (Glendale, AZ), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Willow Canyon for a 5A Northwest challenge on Thursday, April 13. Sunrise Mountain will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 17-3 league win over Paradise Valley (Phoenix, AZ). The Wildcats record now stands at 20-0.

With the loss, Kellis falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Cougars host North Canyon (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Rattlers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Rattlers enter the challenge with a record of 7-7. North Canyon won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Sierra Linda (Phoenix, AZ)
