Kennewick Lions (Kennewick, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Southridge Suns (Kennewick, WA), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Hermiston for a 3A/4A Mid-Columbia challenge on Friday, April 14. Kennewick will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 10-8 league loss to Pasco (Pasco, WA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Southridge falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Suns host Walla Walla (Walla Walla, WA) to battle the Blue Devils in a 3A/4A Mid-Columbia challenge on Friday, April 14. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. Walla Walla lost 6-2 in their recent league challenge against Richland (Richland, WA)
