Oakmont Vikings (Roseville, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host West Park Panthers (Roseville, CA), 10-8 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wheatland for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12. Oakmont will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 5-4 league loss to Marysville (Marysville, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 9-3.

With the loss, West Park falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Panthers host Nevada Union (Grass Valley, CA) to battle the Miners in a Foothill Valley League challenge on Thursday, April 13. The Miners enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Nevada Union lost 12-2 in their recent league challenge against Lincoln (Lincoln, CA)
