Declo Hornets (Declo, ID) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Firth Cougars (Firth, ID), 12-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Kimberly for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 12. Declo will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-2 league win over Gooding (Gooding, ID). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Firth falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Ririe (Ririe, ID) to face the Bulldogs in a 2A Nuclear challenge on Saturday, April 13. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Ririe lost 12-0 in their recent league challenge against West Jefferson (Terreton, ID)
