Hawkins Hawks (Hawkins, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Union Grove Lions (Gladewater, TX), 22-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now sport a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they host Big Sandy for a 1A Region III District 19 challenge on Friday, April 12. Hawkins will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Overton (Overton, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-12.

With the loss, Union Grove falls to 0-14 on the campaign. The Lions host New Summerfield (New Summerfield, TX) to face the Hornets in a 1A Region III District 19 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. New Summerfield won 22-7 in their recent league challenge against Carlisle (Price, TX)
