Washington Warriors (Sioux Falls, SD) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Jefferson Cavaliers (Sioux Falls, SD), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brookings for a Class AA challenge on Saturday, April 13. Washington will face a Bobcats squad coming off a 14-3 league win over Aberdeen Central (Aberdeen, SD). The Bobcats record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Jefferson falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Watertown (Watertown, SD) to face the Arrows in a Class AA challenge on Monday, April 15. The Arrows enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. Watertown won 10-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Mitchell (Mitchell, SD)
