The Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes baseball team scored 3 runs and held the visiting Monmouth United Red Storm to 2 in the Tornadoes league win on Friday.

The Tornadoes now hold a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] for a non-league test on Tuesday, April 15. Abingdon/Avon will play a Spartans team coming off a 9-3 league loss to ROWVA/Williamsfield (Oneida, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 5-7.

With the defeat, Monmouth United drops to 12-3 on the year. The Red storm host Princeville (Princeville, IL) to play the Princes in a Lincoln Trail test on Tuesday, April 15. The Princes go into the test with a record of 6-7. Princeville won 13-0 in their recent league test against Stark County (Toulon, IL)
