Fans at Friday's league battle between the East Lincoln Mustangs (Denver, NC) and the visiting St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC), saw East Lincoln's soccer squad hold off St. Stephens by a count of 1-0.

The Mustangs (13-1) will now prepare for their battle against West Carteret (Morehead City, NC). The Patriots enter the non-league battle with a 5-7 record. In their last battle, West Carteret White Oak (Jacksonville, NC), 3-3, in a league battle.

Next up, the Indians battle the North Iredell Raiders (Olin, NC) in a Western Foothills 3A battle, on Tuesday, April 15. St. Stephens will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Raiders enter the battle with a 6-6 record after their 9-0 league win over Statesville (Statesville, NC).
