The South Caldwell Spartans softball team scored 4 runs and held the host Alexander Central Cougars to 1 in the Spartans non-league win on Friday.

The Spartans now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ashe County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 15. South Caldwell will encounter a Huskies team coming off a 18-2 non-league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Alexander Central moves to 8-2 on the season. The Cougars travel to McDowell (Marion, NC) to encounter the Titans in a non-league battle on Monday, April 14. The Titans come into the battle with a record of 3-0. McDowell won 15-0 in their recent non-league battle against A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC)
