The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), observed Alexander Central's softball team get by South Caldwell by a tally of 11-7.

The Cougars (19-1) will now prepare for their bout against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans go into the non-league bout with a 7-6 record. In their last bout, McDowell was routed by Crest (Shelby, NC), 5-2, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A bout, on Tuesday, April 15. South Caldwell will attempt to advance on its 17-2 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 5-1 non-league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC).
