The Monterey Plainsmen softball squad (Lubbock, TX), was routed 11-7 in Friday's non-league contest with the host Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX)

With the triumph, Amarillo improves its record to 22-8 on the year. The Sandies travel to Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX) to face the Pirates in a 5A Region I District 3 contest on Thursday, April 17. The Pirates enter the contest with a record of 23-4.

The Plainsmen now hold a 12-10 record. They play next when they host Lubbock-Cooper for a 5A Region I District 3 contest on Tuesday, April 15. Monterey will face a Pirates squad coming off a 19-5 league win over Tascosa (Amarillo, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 23-4.
