In Saturday's league bout, the King Mustangs (Corpus Christi, TX) baseball squad edged the visiting Flour Bluff Hornets (Corpus Christi, TX), by a tally of 5-4.

Next up, the Mustangs encounter the Carroll Tigers (Corpus Christi, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 29 test, on Tuesday, April 14. King will attempt to improve on its 9-16 season record. The Tigers go into the test with a 10-16 record after their 10-0 league loss to Gregory-Portland (Portland, TX).

With the defeat, Flour Bluff drops to 20-8 on the year. The Hornets travel to Miller (Corpus Christi, TX) to play the Buccaneers in a 5A Region IV District 29 test on Monday, April 13. The Buccaneers go into the test with a record of 5-20. Miller lost 11-4 in their recent league test against Alice (Alice, TX)
