In Tuesday's non-league game, the host Lordsburg Mavericks baseball team scored a tight 7-6 victory over the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers.
The Mavericks (5-6) will now prepare for their game against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM). The Wildcats go into the 2A District 3 game with a 12-6 record. In their last game, Tularosa was edged by Capitan (Capitan, NM), 19-4, in a league game.
The SonBlazers (1-6) will now prepare for their game against Cathedral (El Paso, TX). The Fighting Irish go into the non-league game with a 4-12 record.
