Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Flying Flucos now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Orange County for a Jefferson challenge on Thursday, April 14. Fluvanna County will battle a Fighting Hornets squad coming off a 1-0 league win over Louisa County (Mineral, VA). The Fighting Hornets record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Monticello falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Goochland (Goochland, VA) to battle the Bulldogs in a Jefferson challenge on Thursday, April 14. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Goochland won 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA)
