Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), 12-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Topsail upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Pirates host Hoggard (Wilmington, NC) to battle the Vikings in a Mideastern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, April 18. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 12-4. Hoggard won 11-1 in their recent non-league test against First Flight (Kill Devil Hills, NC)

With the defeat, Croatan falls to 8-10 on the season. The Cougars host Dixon (Holly Ridge, NC) to battle the Bulldogs in a Coastal 3A test on Tuesday, April 18. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 6-9. Dixon lost 6-5 in their recent league test against Richlands (Richlands, NC)
