The McQuaid Jesuit Knights got by the host St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders baseball team by a count of 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league bout.
The Knights now possess a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Canisius for a non-league bout on Thursday, April 13. McQuaid Jesuit will face a Crusaders team coming off a 5-3 non-league win over McQuaid Jesuit (Rochester, NY). The Crusaders record now stands at 2-3.
Next, the Marauders face the St. Francis Red Raiders (Hamburg, NY) in a Monsignor Martin bout, on Tuesday, April 18. St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record.
Game Summary
St. Joe's lost a tough, tight game to McQuaid 2-1 after the Marauders had an error that gave McQuaid their only runs in the second. Pat Beyer was terrific on the mound throwing 6 innings, only yielding 3 and Everett Elia paced the offense with 2 hits and an RBI.
