Arizona High School Softball - Copper Canyon bounces Independence

April 12, 2023: Glendale, AZ 85303

Copper Canyon Aztecs (Glendale, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ), 23-8 in a league challenge.

The Aztecs now own a 7-11 record. They take the field next when they host Buckeye for a 5A Central Valley challenge on Friday, April 14. Copper Canyon will face a Hawks squad coming off a 27-7 league win over Glendale (Glendale, AZ). The Hawks record now stands at 12-6.

With the loss, Independence falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Patriots host Washington (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Rams in a 5A Central Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 8-12. Washington won 17-0 in their recent non-league challenge against South Mountain (Phoenix, AZ)
