Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Cornell Raiders (Coraopolis, PA), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Scotties now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cornell for a WPIAL 1A 1 challenge on Wednesday, April 12. Union Area will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 22-1 league loss to Northgate (Pittsburgh, PA). The Raiders record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Cornell falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Raiders host Union Area (New Castle, PA) to battle the Scotties in a WPIAL 1A 1 challenge on Wednesday, April 12. The Scotties enter the challenge with a record of 6-1. Union Area won 23-13 in their recent non-league challenge against Beaver (Beaver, PA)
