Freeport Pretzels (Freeport, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Jefferson J-Hawks (Rockford, IL), 19-2 in a league challenge.

The Pretzels now own a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they host Rockford Auburn for a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Friday, April 14. Freeport will face a Knights squad coming off a 18-8 league loss to Belvidere (Belvidere, IL). The Knights record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Jefferson falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The J-hawks host Harlem (Machesney Park, IL) to face the Huskies in a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Friday, April 14. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Harlem lost 8-5 in their recent league challenge against Hononegah (Rockton, IL)
