Greenport-Southold-Mattituck Porters (Greenport, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Hampton Bays Baymen (Hampton Bays, NY), 22-4 in a league challenge.
The Porters now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rocky Point for a Section 11 A-5 challenge on Tuesday, April 18.
With the loss, Hampton Bays falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Baymen travel to Mount Sinai (Mount Sinai, NY) to face the Mustangs in a Section 11 A-6 challenge on Friday, April 14.
