Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Senators now sport a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pleasant Plains for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Springfield will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Springfield Southeast falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Normal University (Normal, IL) to face the Pioneers in a Central State Eight challenge on Saturday, April 15. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Normal University won 16-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Lexington (Lexington, IL)
