The crowd at Friday's league test between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), saw Watauga's soccer squad get by Alexander Central by a count of 1-0.
The Pioneers now hold a 9-1 record. They play next when they host Hibriten for a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, April 16. Watauga will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 8-0 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 10-0.
With the loss, Alexander Central drops to 4-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to meet the Spartans in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, April 16. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 5-5. South Caldwell won 2-0 in their recent league test against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
