West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots face the Dixon Bulldogs (Holly Ridge, NC) in a Coastal 3A challenge, on Tuesday, April 16. West Carteret will attempt to better on its 8-2 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 9-1 record after their 1-0 league win over Croatan (Newport, NC).

The Pirates now have a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Richlands for a Coastal 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Swansboro will face a Wildcats team coming off a 4-1 league win over White Oak (Jacksonville, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-6.
