The New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) baseball nipped the host South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), 4-3 in Friday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Wildcats play the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, April 16. New Hanover will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Pirates enter the contest with a 7-3 record after their 1-1 league West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC).

The Cougars now sport a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashley for a non-league contest on Tuesday, April 16. South Brunswick will play a Screaming Eagle squad coming off a 7-4 non-league loss to Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Screaming Eagle record now stands at 2-9.
