Auburndale Apaches (Auburndale, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Assumption Royals (Wisconsin Rapids, WI), 4-1 in a league challenge.

The Apaches now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Newman for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 15. Auburndale will battle a Fighting Cardinals squad coming off a 6-5 non-league win over Stratford (Stratford, WI). The Fighting Cardinals record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Assumption falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Royals travel to Mosinee (Mosinee, WI) to battle the Indians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 6-0. Mosinee won 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Tomahawk (Tomahawk, WI)
