Parkland Matadors (El Paso, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bel Air Highlanders (El Paso, TX), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Matadors now own a 18-15 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hanks for a 5A Region I District 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Parkland will battle a Knights squad coming off a 14-6 league loss to Del Valle (El Paso, TX). The Knights record now stands at 15-18.

With the loss, Bel Air falls to 14-12 on the campaign. The Highlanders travel to Horizon (El Paso, TX) to battle the Scorpions in a 5A Region I District 2 challenge on Wednesday, April 17. The Scorpions enter the challenge with a record of 9-19. Horizon lost 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Ysleta (El Paso, TX)
