Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Burkeville Mustangs (Burkeville, TX), 29-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 16-3 record. They take the field next when they host Zavalla for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Brookeland will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 18-3 league loss to Chireno (Chireno, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 4-8.

With the loss, Burkeville falls to 2-17 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Woden (Woden, TX) to battle the Eagles in a 2A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Woden won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Broaddus (Broaddus, TX)
