Calhoun Sandcrabs (Port Lavaca, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sinton Pirates (Sinton, TX), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Sandcrabs now own a 11-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rockport-Fulton for a 4A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Calhoun will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 7-0 league win over Jones (Beeville, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Sinton falls to 19-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Ingleside (Ingleside, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 4A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 26-7. Ingleside won 13-7 in their recent league challenge against Orange Grove (Orange Grove, TX)
