Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Moss Point Tigers (Moss Point, MS), 17-14 in a non-league challenge.

The Gators now own a 5-11 record. They take the field next when they host Stone for a 5A Region 4 challenge on Monday, April 15. Gautier will battle a Tomcats squad coming off a 4-3 league win over Vancleave (Vancleave, MS). The Tomcats record now stands at 13-13.

With the loss, Moss Point falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Poplarville (Poplarville, MS) to battle the Hornets in a 4A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 11-9.
