In Saturday's non-league game, the host Simon Kenton Pioneers baseball team scored a close 9-8 win over the Cooper Jaguars.
The Pioneers (8-3) will now prepare for their game against Dixie Heights (Edgewood, KY). The Colonels go into the non-league game with a 4-8 record. In their last game, Dixie Heights nudged Williamsburg (Williamsburg, OH), 13-0, in a non-league game.
Next, the Jaguars play the Ryle Raiders (Union, KY) in a District 33 game, on Tuesday, April 15. Cooper will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record. The Raiders go into the game with a 8-4 record after their 13-3 non-league win over Beechwood (Fort Mitchell, KY).
