Colorado High School Baseball - Salida held off by Manitou Springs

Manitou Springs Mustangs (Manitou Springs, CO) fans left the game pleased Saturday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the host Salida Spartans (Salida, CO), 9-7 in a league match.

With the triumph, Manitou Springs advances its record to 4-7 on the season. The Mustangs host Lamar (Lamar, CO) to battle the Thunder in a 3A/2A Tri-Peaks match on Friday, April 18. The Thunder come into the match with a record of 9-3. Lamar won 15-5 in their recent league match against Buena Vista (Buena Vista, CO)

The Spartans now have a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Summit for a non-league match on Tuesday, April 15. Salida will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 13-3 non-league loss to Canon City (Canon City, CO). The Tigers record now stands at 7-3.
