Illinois High School Baseball - Murphysboro defeats Massac County

April 12, 2025: Metropolis, IL 62960

The Murphysboro Red Devils baseball team scored 8 runs and held the host Massac County Patriots to 2 in the Red Devils league win on Saturday.

The Red Devils now hold a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Harrisburg for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio test on Monday, April 14. Murphysboro will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 6-2 non-league win over Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-7.

With the defeat, Massac County drops to 9-1 on the year. The Patriots host Carterville (Carterville, IL) to play the Lions in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio test on Monday, April 14. The Lions go into the test with a record of 8-3. Carterville lost 11-6 in their recent non-league test against Tolono Unity (Tolono, IL)
