Douglas Eagles (Douglas, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Guntersville Wildcats (Guntersville, AL), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 21-5 record. They take the field next when they host Sardis for a 5A Area 13 challenge on Thursday, April 14. Douglas will battle a Lions squad coming off a 16-8 league win over Boaz (Boaz, AL). The Lions record now stands at 8-9.

With the loss, Guntersville falls to 8-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to New Hope (New Hope, AL) to battle the Indians in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 14. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 3-14. New Hope lost 11-0 in their recent league challenge against North Jackson (Stevenson, AL)
