Red Oak Hawks (Red Oak, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Ennis Lions (Ennis, TX), 5-3 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 12-8 record. They take the field next when they host Nimitz for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 15.

With the loss, Ennis moves to 7-6 on the season. The Lions host University (Waco, TX) to meet the Trojans in a 5A Region II District 14 battle on Tuesday, April 19. The Trojans go into the battle with a record of 1-7.
