Souhegan Sabers (Amherst, NH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pelham Pythons (Pelham, NH), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Sabers now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hollis-Brookline for a Division II challenge on Friday, April 15. Souhegan will battle a Cavaliers squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Milford (Milford, NH). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Pelham falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Pythons host Oyster River (Durham, NH) to battle the Bobcats in a Division II challenge on Friday, April 15. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Oyster River lost 13-4 in their recent league challenge against Coe-Brown Academy (Northwood, NH)
