Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Charlottesville Black Knights (Charlottesville, VA), 17-3 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Harrisonburg for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 17. Albemarle will face a Blue Streaks squad coming off a 10-1 league loss to Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA). The Blue Streaks record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Charlottesville falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Black knights host Orange County (Orange, VA) to face the Fighting Hornets in a Jefferson challenge on Friday, April 14. The Fighting Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. Orange County won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA)
