The Walter Johnson Wildcats (Bethesda, MD) softball nipped the visiting Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons (Bethesda, MD), 8-7 in Thursday's league bout.

The Wildcats (1-0) will now prepare for their bout against Wootton (Rockville, MD). The Patriots go into the Montgomery County 4A - West bout with a 1-1 record. In their last bout, Wootton held off Richard Montgomery (Rockville, MD), 6-1, in a league bout.

The Barons now possess a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Whitman for a Montgomery County 4A - West bout on Saturday, April 15. Bethesda-Chevy Chase will confront a Vikings squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Churchill (Potomac, MD). The Vikings record now stands at 2-1.
