In Thursday's league contest, the Northgate Flames (Pittsburgh, PA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Carlynton Cougars (Carnegie, PA), by a margin of 12-2.

With the triumph, Northgate moves its record to 4-2 on the year. The Flames travel to South Side (Hookstown, PA) to play the Rams in a WPIAL 1A 1 contest on Monday, April 17. The Rams come into the contest with a record of 1-0. South Side won 15-4 in their recent league contest against Sewickley Academy (Sewickley, PA)

In their next game, the Cougars play the Beaver Falls Tigers (Beaver Falls, PA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, April 18. Carlynton will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Tigers come into the contest with a 0-3 record after their 11-0 league loss to Central Valley (Monaca, PA).
