The crowd at Thursday's league match between the St. James Sharks (Murrells Inlet, SC) and the host Conway Tigers (Conway, SC), saw St. James's softball squad achieve victory over Conway by a count of 9-1.

The Sharks now sport a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carolina Forest for a AAAAA Region 5 match on Monday, April 17. St. James will face a Panthers squad coming off a 13-0 league win over Socastee (Myrtle Beach, SC). The Panthers record now stands at 13-9.

With the loss, Conway falls to 11-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Sumter (Sumter, SC) to face the Gamecocks in a AAAAA Region 5 match on Monday, April 17. The Gamecocks enter the match with a record of 9-3. Sumter won 9-8 in their recent non-league match against West Florence (Florence, SC)
