The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) and the visiting Kecoughtan Warriors (Hampton, VA), saw Menchville's softball squad nip Kecoughtan by a count of 8-7.

The Monarchs now sport a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Woodside for a Peninsula match on Tuesday, April 18. Menchville will face a Wolverines squad coming off a 18-1 league loss to Gloucester (Gloucester, VA). The Wolverines record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Kecoughtan falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host Warwick (Newport News, VA) to face the Raiders in a Peninsula match on Tuesday, April 18. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 6-2.
