St. John Paul II Catholic Lions (Avondale, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host NFL Yet Academy Eagles (Phoenix, AZ), 26-7 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they host Arizona Lutheran Academy for a 2A West challenge on Tuesday, April 18.

With the loss, NFL Yet Academy falls to 0-12 on the campaign. The Eagles host Mohave Accelerated (Bullhead City, AZ) to battle the Patriots in a 2A West challenge on Monday, April 17. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 23-1. Mohave Accelerated won 21-4 in their recent league challenge against Arizona Lutheran Academy (Phoenix, AZ)
