Southlands Christian Eagles (Rowland Heights, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Orangewood Academy Spartans (Garden Grove, CA), 8-5 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Western Christian for a San Joaquin challenge on Wednesday, April 19. Southlands Christian will battle a Fighting Lancers squad coming off a 6-1 league win over Capistrano Valley Christian (San Juan Capistrano, CA). The Fighting Lancers record now stands at 15-2.

With the loss, Orangewood Academy falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Spartans host Samueli Academy (Santa Ana, CA) to battle the Firewolves in a San Joaquin challenge on Friday, April 14. The Firewolves enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Samueli Academy lost 21-3 in their recent league challenge against Capistrano Valley Christian (San Juan Capistrano, CA)
