Cayuga Wildcats (Cayuga, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-19 record. They take the field next when they host Martins Mill for a 2A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Cayuga will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 14-4 league loss to Frankston (Frankston, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, LaPoynor falls to 3-13 on the campaign.
