UIC College Prep Firecats (Chicago, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rauner Wildcats (Chicago, IL), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Firecats now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 15. UIC College Prep will face a Hawks squad coming off a 12-11 non-league loss to Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Rauner falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Noble Street College Prep (Chicago, IL) to face the Golden Tigers in a Noble Network challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Golden Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Noble Street College Prep won 13-2 in their recent league challenge against Bulls College Prep (Chicago, IL)
