West Harrison Hurricanes (Gulfport, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS), 9-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hurricanes now own a 14-11 record. They take the field next when they host Long Beach for a 6A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. West Harrison will face a Bearcats squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Hancock (Kiln, MS). The Bearcats record now stands at 6-13.

With the loss, West Jones falls to 9-13 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to South Jones (Ellisville, MS) to face the Braves in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 15. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 13-11. South Jones won 19-0 in their recent league challenge against Natchez (Natchez, MS)
