In Thursday's non-league game, the host Lake Cormorant baseball team scored a tight 5-0 victory over the Independence Wildcats.
The (13-8) will now prepare for their game against Marshall Academy (Holly Springs, MS). The Patriots go into the non-league game with a 9-1 record. In their last game, Marshall Academy tipped Rossville Christian Academy (Rossville, TN), 12-0, in a league game.
The Wildcats (15-10) will now prepare for their game against Alcorn Central (Glen, MS). The Bears go into the non-league game with a 8-17 record. In their last game, Alcorn Central was overwhelmed by South Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS), 8-7, in a non-league game.
