The Alleghany Mountaineers softball team scored 5 runs and limited the visiting Floyd County Buffaloes to 3 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Alleghany moves its record to 5-0 on the year. The Mountaineers host Glenvar (Salem, VA) to play the Highlanders in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 19. The Highlanders come into the game with a record of 0-2. Glenvar lost 18-0 in their recent non-league game against Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA)

In their next game, the Buffaloes play the Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, April 20. Floyd County will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record.
