North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 11-6 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Mount Airy for a Northwest 1A challenge on Tuesday, April 19. North Stokes will battle a Granite Bears squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Granite Bears record now stands at 1-13.

With the loss, Alleghany falls to 0-15 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to battle the Cardinals in a Northwest 1A challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 13-3. East Wilkes won 14-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Topsail (Hampstead, NC)
