Manila Lions (Manila, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Corning Bobcats (Corning, AR), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 5-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to McCrory for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 18. Manila will battle a Jaguars squad coming off a 10-3 non-league win over Carlisle (Carlisle, AR). The Jaguars record now stands at 9-0.

With the loss, Corning falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Hoxie (Hoxie, AR) to battle the Mustangs in a 3A-3 challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 5-5.
